UCT Neuroscience Institute

University of Cape Town (UCT) HIV Mental Health Research Unit

We’re honoured to collaborate with the HIV Mental Health Research Unit (HIV MHU) at the University of Cape Town’s Neuroscience Institute. The Unit has led groundbreaking work at the intersection of HIV and mental health and stands as a leader in advancing evidence-based care, training and research.

Together, BCA and the HIV MHU are co-developing short courses that merge behavioural science with neuroscience, equipping professionals with the tools to understand and influence behaviour in ways that can transform health outcomes.

This partnership is not just about training; it’s about building a new generation of practitioners who can bridge science and society, applying fresh knowledge to improve lives and strengthen systems of care. By combining UCT’s pioneering research with BCA’s applied behavioural science, we’re shaping courses that are as practical as they are impactful, ensuring ideas translate into action across South Africa and beyond.
